BOOK & BLOG

I left the “Book” up there for form’s sake, but the fact is that I didn’t read anything that really grabbed me in the past week. Oh, sure, I read some books, but I skipped parts of all of them, and I’d feel a little hypocritical recommending them to you all. The problem may lie in myself. Paula and I are leaving for Europe next Saturday, and I have a million things to do before then. Okay, a hundred, anyway.

I’ve generously allowed Paula to do all the worrying about the trip so far. It’s probably time I shouldered some of the anxiety. Seriously, I don’t even know our schedule or our itinerary. I’ve been trying hard to get a leap into Sookie 11 before we depart so when I come back I can build on that foundation.

This European trip was put together pretty much at random, and then everyone wanted to jump on the wagon. However, two and a half weeks is pretty much my limit for a trip. After that, all I can think about is getting home, wearing some different clothes, and sleeping in my own bed. So the other countries that wanted me to visit for various events must wait until next year. If this trip proves to be a success (I’m not sure how I’ll define that, but I’ll know it when I see it) maybe we’ll go back next year.

I’m not sure how much time I’ll have to check the website, but I’ll try. Don’t go nuts on me while I’m away! We plan to try to cram some sight-seeing into our little moments of free time, so we won’t be spending much time in our hotel rooms. At least, that’s the plan.

I’ll see some of you while I’m on the road over there, so be sure and tell me that you visit the website. The rest of you, have a good time while I’m gone. Mind the moderators, and don’t tear up the house. Water the plants and feed the pets, take in the mail and the newspapers, and pay the bills for me, okay?
